It takes more than a little rain to keep Jacksonville's most dedicated elites away from an opportunity to rock out with the dock out! The skies cleared for yelpers to enjoy a gorgeous sunset cruise AND Harvest moonrise on the amazing fleet of boats from the Freedom Boat Club! With leis around our necks and sportin’ our best Hawaiian shirts, yelpers said aloha (hello) to new faces and aloha (goodbye) to the end of summer, in style, at the Rock the Dock Elite Event!
"This wasn't just a restaurant. This wasn't a just wine bar. This wasn't just a sunset boat ride. It was all of that rolled into one. We rocked the dock, we jumped to our hearts content, we enjoyed a night on the river." gushes Daisy D, "With music from Big Jeff and captains ready to take any of us out on the water, it was all around an experience to remember."
We started off with some tasty snacks from Pretzel Crisps, "topped off by HUGE cups of delicious wine from FlipFlop Wines." Steve G. All served up by with a smile by our wonderful bartender, Rae.
In the spirit of our Hawaiian theme, Da Big Kahuna treated us to some pulled pork and rice, and spam sushi! "I was a huge fan of the shredded pork,” shares Anthony H. "It was very tender and moist — I am craving it as I write this review." And he won’t forget the mini cupcakes from the lovely Lauren, from Lauren's Luscious Bites Catering anytime soon, either and adds, "The cupcakes themselves were worth going alone."
Jamming out to the cover tunes from the awesome "Big Jeff", we made our way out to the fleet of boats, and yelped off into the sunset!
Amanda M, "We explored most of Julington Creek and our Captain was hysterical. He even let me drive for a few until another boat came around the bend! The weather cooperated, the temperature was perfect, and as we pulled back in, we were able to watch the Harvest Moon rise. Magic!"
There were prizes to be had as well, including a trial boat club membership, the infamous and oh-so-popular "Make Me Yelp" hot pants and of course, some yelpy good schwag.
