On Tuesday night, twenty lucky Yelp Elites had the opportunity to cook
with the amazing chefs at Stew Leonard’s in Newington. While learning about the
market’s commitment to farm fresh ingredients, yelpers shopped the store for
seasonal ingredients to create a multi-course autumn feast. Thank you to our
wonderful hosts for an unforgettable evening!
For Lisa M, this was “Easily one of the best events I've been to yet,”
and it “just reinforced for me how great Stew Leonard's is to their customers.”
After splitting into two cooking groups and accompanying Executive Chef Michael
Luboff and Chef Chaz Fable in a shopping trip through the store, event
attendees settled into the kitchen to whip up an “eclectic, delicious and
inspiring” dinner menu. After honing their kitchen skills from chopping to
braising, everyone sat down for a relaxing, delicious meal with dishes sure to be added to future holiday menus. “Oh hey,” says Heather C, turns out “brussel sprouts don’t suck when you
put bacon and maple syrup in them!” Imagine that! Freesia S recalls, “The highlights
for me were the chicken saltimbocca, the shaved brussel sprouts, and the salad”
with baby arugula, red krimsom pears, and gorgonzola in a citonette dressing.
Delicious food aside, “this whole event felt like a family gathering, and there
was something really nice about preparing a meal with my Yelp friends and then
sitting down to enjoy it around one big table together.” From seasonal greens with sweet potato croutons in a cider vinagrette to pan seared pork
tenderloin with roasted root vegetables, each mouthwatering plate was more exquisite than the last. As a sweet conclusion, dessert included a broken
pumpkin pie parfait and apple cobbler with Stew Leonard’s fresh vanilla ice
cream. As if the meal wasn’t glorious enough, each attendee left with some
tasty treats from the store and received recipes of everything they helped
