Happy Birthday Abbey! An Elite Celebration

Abbey turned two this month and what better way to celebrate than hosting an Elite birthday bash for the Tucson Elite squad? Thanks to brother and sister restaurants, Abbey Eat + Drink and Jax Kitchen, this was a flavor packed celebration with decadent food and crafty libations. A photo-booth, crafts table and giant birthday card were the icing on the cake!

Elites noshed on the new "Monk" burger, Nana's pot roast, Duck Confit cassoulet and decadent mini Red Relvet cake bites.Tiffany S yelps, the duck confit "cassoulet was my favorite with well cooked tender beans, great flavor and the surprise" of raisins." Meanwhile Molly H and her hubby were enchanted by the truffle essence in Nana's Pot Roast: "The Man said "hmmm, I smell truffles." Her thoughts on the dish? "It was divine." And the "Monk" burger was a huge hit. Syvlia M exclaims "The food highlight was definitely the burger." But so were the red velvet cake bites! Yeeps each had at least three of four of them.

And to wash all this deliciousness down they had non-stop rounds of specialty cocktails and beer. They had plenty of options to choose from including a Blueberry Caipirinha, the "j bird" Old Fashion, two different beers AND a choice of red or white wine! Brianna H has nothing but love for the j bird: "I am a big fan. I love the sweetness from the cranberry mixed with the bourbon." Others noted the Caipirinha was refreshing and the New Belgium "abbey" was an excellent choice for beer.

And what would an Elite even be without making new friends and catching up with old ones? Heather M yelps, "the highlight of the evening for me was a chance to visit with my Yelpy friends – ones I've known a while and new ones I met that night. We engaged in a lively conversation about movies, restaurants and other Yelpyness. Kind of an in person review sharing session. After all, isn't this what Yelp is really about- bringing the community together, sharing experiences and showing support for our local venues? " We couldn't agree more!

After snacks and sips, great conversation and laughter, crafts and card signing, memories were captured at the photo booth! Jenny Y gushes,"We all got to write our birthday wishes on a special ginormous birthday card for The Abbey. We even got to take this card to the photo booth and pose with it. How fun!"
