Who says were too old for games?! 175 Elites came out to Powersurge on Monday night to prove that cocktails and video games go quite well together.
The place is a gaming mecca. Over 30 TVs are set up in a large room ideal for gaming and in this case, ideal for eating as well. Sam L notes, "The games were hilarious! Tons of games with really hi-def TVs. Cool. The dancing game was pretty awesome. Some people are amazingly coordinated. Alas, I am not."
St. Germain kept the cocktails flowing. Their famous hummingbird (club soda, St. Germain and champagne) really did have us humming. One Hope Wines was pouring an assortment of their wines, which donate half their profits to charity. Bridget P shares "One Hope Wine (which you can purchase in a few BevMo locations, I was told) donates part of their proceeds to a different charitable cause for each wine. There were also cocktails made with St. Germain and champagne, which flowed freely the whole night and were highly addictive. The hostess was the sweetest person ever; she sold everyone on St. Germain and seemed genuinely excited for us to enjoy it. She also didn't judge me for coming back so soon for multiple drinks."
It's not a Yelp elite party without some grub. The Good Pizza was in tow serving not only their decadent organic pizza pies but rich lobster ravioli, spicy penne and homemade cannoli's as well. Laura S shares "EPIC – lobster chunks! Omg. What! What! This was… I ate two big ones and I avoid carbs! And I wasn't even hungry! Yeah! I know! :D"
And we all like a little sugar and Cookie Good knows how to do it just right. Phillip N admits he "sampled on banana creme and caramel pretzel cookies. I don't really like sweets but they were so good! Caramel chocolate pretzel is the best, the saltiness juxtapose the sweetness really well."
Christine T sums it up: "Games, grub, booze, awesome folks. All key ingredients for a successful fun night."
Until next time,
