As Long Beach native Gabriel Iglesias prepares to kick off his “One Show Fits All” world tour at the STAPLES Center this Friday, we caught up with the comedian to talk about some of his favorite food finds in the area. When on tour, he knows he can rely on the “Open Now” feature on the Yelp app to help score him and his team some great late night eats while on the road!
Tasty Food to Go, Long Beach
My barber of 20 years, Lam, is the owner of this restaurant. He’s Laotian and his wife, thankfully, created the menu and recipes. Everything is good, but the Pad See Ewe, eaten hot is my favorite!
Five Guys, Long Beach
The Bacon Cheese Dog with ketchup, mayo and mustard. I just love a hot dog…and bacon. So put these together and I’m happy!
Black Bear Diner, Signal Hill
The Chorizo Scramble. This is my local diner. It’s like family there and the chorizo scramble is a filling breakfast with the right amount of spice. In the past I have done a “Fluffy Fan Appreciation” lunch and invited fans here to have lunch ON me and WITH me.

Yaki’s the Original Teriyaki Bowl, Burbank
Pastrami Cheeseburger and Bulldogs. Whenever work takes me to Burbank for press or tapings, I try to stop at Yaki’s. The Bulldog is a hot dog with cheese, wrapped in spring roll paper and then deep fried. It is a super unique menu item you can’t get anywhere else.
Kalbi’s Grill, Los Angeles
Its right by my manager’s office and we can walk next door and get a Kalbi Beef Bowl. I like to have my business meetings with a side of beef.
The Hat, Pasadena
Brea Chili Cheese Pastrami Fries and a Grilled Cheese. This Hat location is close to the Ice House, one of the LA area clubs that I perform at when my schedule allows. I always go there after the show or send someone to grab it. This place is classic, has some of the best pastrami around and is very filling.
Corn Man, Los Angeles
Elote…that’s all he does! We featured the Corn Man on the last season of my show “Fluffy’s Food Adventures” (Tasty Food to go was also featured on that show.) You can’t mess with the elote. Mayonnaise and cheesy goodness in a bowl or on the cob.

Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, Long Beach
The Family Feast. I’ve held a few holiday and birthday parties here and the Family Feast feeds a whole group and you can get lots of different options and sides. I love the ribs and the biscuits with apple butter.
Eggs Etc., Long Beach
The Baja Omelette with avocado, cheese, chorizo and onions. It comes with a generous serving of avocado and a big scoop of sour cream. You get more than enough food, and it’s another great, filling breakfast spot.
Tokyo Wako, Long Beach
Filet mignon with shrimp and fried rice. This is another go-to spot in Long Beach. The fried rice has great flavor and I enjoy watching them cook the food.
