Five ways to get your home holiday ready!

The holidays may look a bit different this year, but they are not cancelled. Whether you’re planning a socially distant soiree or just looking to add some cheer to your digs,  we’ve rounded up five ways to get holiday ready. There’s plenty of ways to make this season extra special in 2020.

Make an entrance:

If you are looking to make seasonal enhancements that won’t break the bank, adding a few plants to your entryway is a great solution. Visit your local nursery for the best winter assortments. Options like the potted blue spruce, ivy, paperwhites and poinsettias are classic holiday plants you can grow outside that withstand a variety of temperatures. You can also search for a local florist on Yelp to add a seasonal wreath to your door.

Make your home clean and tidy:

There are few things that feel better than a clean home. With all the other things you’re preparing for guests, why not find a local cleaning service to do some of the heavy lifting. You can request a quote from a business near you right on the app.

Bring the holidays indoors: 

Some instant ways to add some seasonal sparkle? Search for a local florist and order dried fall flower arrangements – they are beautiful budget friendly since they last longer than fresh bouquets. Take a visit to your local home decor store and pick up a few holiday staples like candles, table runners, and entryway decorations.

Prepare for guests:

From the kitchen to the guest room make sure you are ready for your holiday guests. Visit a local wine shop for essentials like wine and charcuterie items so there are always snacks available for grazing. A happy host is a well stocked host. When it comes to the guest room, it’s always a nice idea to have fresh sheets and toiletries handy.

Keep health & safety in mind:

In a time where health and safety are so important, make sure you have a COVID-friendly corner for your guests. Have a welcome area that includes extra masks, sanitizer, and wipes for those entering your holiday home. It’s never a bad idea to offer a small gift like a mask chain to your guests.
