Sunny days and ice cold beer go together like peanut butter and jelly, cookies and cream, or eggs and bacon. What we’re trying to say is, summer is the prime season to enjoy a pint from a local brewery!
Everybody deserves a good beer at the end of the day, but we feel for the parents out there who might really need one. We’ve tracked down some of the best family-friendly breweries in the Greater Seattle area that are perfect for you and for your littlest family members. From tot-approved food menus to awesome play areas, these breweries are definitely worth checking out before summer comes to an end.

Maritime Pacific Brewing Company
Photo by Yelper In the Ballard neighborhood, you’ll find Maritime Pacific Brewing Company. Maritime is a family-owned brewery that has been operating since 1990. The taproom is revered by Yelpers and brew-enthusiasts alike for their extensive, kid-friendly menu. They also have an awesome floor painted as a pirate map, which is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages.
The Jolly Roger Taproom is currently open with limited seating (inside and outside) from Wednesday – Sunday with varying hours.
Stoup Brewing

Stoup has an awesome kid’s corner, that packs a big punch. It’s full of fun games, as well as a big roll of butcher paper and markers for your little artists to go wild while you enjoy your favorite brew. They also have a rotating schedule of food trucks that fits everybody’s appetites.

Metier Brewing Company
Photo by Yelper Bailey K.Throwing it over to the Eastside, you’ll find Metier Brewing Company in Woodinville, right outside of the downtown district. They currently are open for indoor seating on a reservation basis only (up to parties of 5).
Not only is their space very large, making it great for social distancing even with the littlest roamers, but they have an awesome kid’s play space. Their kid’s play space is fenced in, with a foam floor and a wide assortment of toys, games, and activities for kids. They’ve even been known to host kid’s birthday parties with this space in the past.
Rooftop Brewing Company

If you’re looking for a nice outdoor space, Rooftop Brewing Company is the spot for you and your family! With King County’s Phase 2 regulations, they’ve nearly doubled their outdoor space to allow for food trucks and more guest space.
So, what makes Rooftop Brewing so kid-friendly? They’ve got chalk for the kids to color on the walls and sidewalks with, as well as fun games like magnetic darts. Pre-Covid, they provide a free popcorn machine available for snacking.
Optimism Brewing

Optimism Brewing is deeply loved by many Seattle-area parents is. The owners have kids themselves, so they decided to create a space they would want to go with their little ones. They have a spacious, enclosed space for kids complete with tables specifically for families.
Optimism Brewing’s website showcases their mission by stating: “We believe it is important that families have a casual place to drink a beer, and that children see that alcohol can be enjoyed responsibly.” Optimism Brewing is open for reservation only, currently. Book a table now on their website.
Fremont Brewing

Another awesome option for outdoor enthusiasts is Fremont Brewing. They are currently open at 50% capacity in their outdoor area, which is the perfect spot for kids! It’s loved by parents for how open and spacious it is, making it perfect for little ones.
Parents also love the free snacks for kids like apples and pretzels. If you’re looking for something more filling, there are plenty of options in the area to order from and bring in to Fremont Brewing.

Lagunitas Brewery

If you’re looking for a new spot to unwind for lunch or dinner, Lagunitas is the perfect option. The brewery is spacious, features fun neon signs, and has a menu that’s perfect for the entire family. From shareable options like chips and salsa to entrees like the Lagunitas Burger, there’s something for the entire family to enjoy.

Broadview Tap House

Self-proclaimed “family-friendly purveyor of fine local craft beer,” the Broadview Tap House encourages parents to bring along their children.
They have a large kid’s area featuring all sorts of toys and a big patio that’s perfect for enjoying on Seattle summer days. Outside of that, they allow you to bring in your own food for the family. Molly’s Grown to Eat salads & sandwiches are also available on-site, along with chips and organic snacks for purchase.
