Earlier this week members of the Fort Lauderdale Elite Squad dined on a delicious sampling at Angelo Elia Pizza Bar Tapas, a pre-gamed for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Wine & Food Festival. The evening was full of copious amounts of Italian food, served family-style, as Elites sipped wine and chatted the night away.
The night began with a choice of Red or White Wine. Then, under the canvas topped outdoor patio, Elites sat for a lovely tasting of some of Chef Angelo’s most popular dishes – eight incredible courses to be exact. Yelper’s began with the Quinoa Salad, an apple, spinach, raisins and pine nuts topped with a white balsamic vinaigrette and the Fritto Misto, a calamari, shrimp and vegetable served with a lemon aioli and marinara sauce.
Next came the well renowned Italian Sausage in two different styles. One was served with escarole and beans and the other with broccoli rapini. Then to everyone’s delight came the cheese-pulls. Full pies of Margherita and Diavola pizza and classic Calzone. The final two main courses featured Chicken Meatballs in escarole and beans, Mini Veal Meatballs in a marinara sauce and Eggplant Rollatini with ricotta and spinach, baked in a marinara sauce.
The final course? Well, dessert of course. Elites were served Mini Cannolis and Tiramisu. It was a sweet ending to a delicious night.
