Wild Elite Events are fun, but sometimes nothing is better than sitting down for a quiet meal with your favorite person. That’s why when Holsteins Shakes & Buns wanted to introduce themselves to Portland’s Yelp Elite community, they did things a little differently. For an entire week, Yelp Elites brought their favorite person in for private date nights, complements of the host!
The Yelpers’ dinners started with complementary miniature tins of popcorn, a Holsteins tradition. Next, the attentive servers shared with their guests the good news: they were in for a feast! Each guest was able to select one appetizer, one entree, and one of Holsteins’ signature BamBoozled shakes! And to wash it all down? Two complimentary drinks from the host’s local-heavy beer and wine list.
From this point on, the Yelp Elites’ experiences were as varied as they are. While some started with truffled mac & cheese or fried pickles, others began their meals with ahi poke tostadas or shredded short rib poutine! The Artichoke “Guac” was a unique take on the classic crowd-favorite. And the buffalo chicken dip and the Korean ‘bulgogi’ quesadilla both had the perfect level of heat.
For entrees, most went with Holsteins’ famous burgers. Carnivores liked the Nom Nom burger (a Kobe beef patty topped with cheddar, 1000 island dressing and potato chips) or the Gold Standard (dry aged beef sirloin burger with smoked bacon, aged goat cheddar cheese, tomato confit, baby arugula, & garlic-chive aioli). Vegetarians loved the Urth Burger, an all natural vegan patty served with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, sprouts, & avocado. Some however didn’t get burgers at all! Instead they tried delicious Holsteins entrees like the New York strip steak or the Maine lobster roll!
Of course, for many dessert was the main attraction! Holsteins is known for their famous BamBoozled adult milkshakes. With four unique flavors to choose from, everybody found something that they would enjoy. From the Frozen Grasshopper made with chocolate vodka and creme de menthe to the Bridgetown Birthday Cake made with Burnside bourbon and garnished with an entire porter cupcake, Holsteins takes ‘drinking your dessert’ to a whole new level! Some, however, didn’t get milkshakes at all. Another popular option was the Nitro Meringues, which simply has to be seen to be believed!
Full and satisfied at the end of their meals, some Yelp Elites still wished they’d had the opportunity to try even more! It was then that the team at Holsteins surprised each Yelper with a $25 gift certificate for a return visit! Everybody agreed they’d be cashing those in ASAP.
