You heard me right. It's not every day you get treated to a personal audience with a Michelin star chef, but that's exactly what Yelp Dublin were privy to yesterday evening!
Tuscan Patron Chef Luca Mazza started with Pacinos just over six months ago, which has resulted in the restaurant gaining great acclaim for it's fresh and authentic Italian food. Chef Mazza spoke all about the importance of using fewer, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients in putting together any feed, and the processes the restaurant goes through in creating it's signature dishes.
Treated to an Aperol cocktail on arrival whilst taking in all of Lucca's wisdom (fresh ingrediants, cooked with love!), and some history on authentic Italian cooking, the group was guided into the vaults of Pacino's to get stuck into their private pizza lesson with the Don himself!
Maire B thought it was all bloody wonderful! "It was wonderful to hear him talk about food, and even more wonderfuller
to be shown how to make a good pizza, and wonderfullest to eat a said
pizza. And then of course there was the wondering of whether we could
actually finish all the pizza."
As a surprise treat, in celebration of the 500th review of one of our amazing Yelpers (Maire B herself!), Pacinos also laid on a massive cake (lemon cheesecake to be exact) to celebrate this milestone. If you have not had the cheese cake in this fine establishment, Ladies and Gentlemen, you are missing out on something truly spectacular. Go forth. Get the cake. Do not share it, whatever you do.
Stay tuned for the next installment, when Yelpers have been invited back
to Pacinos to undergo further instructions from Chef Mazza (are they
grooming us for something?!), to learn the basics of a topic of their
choice – fresh pasta making or tirimisu constructing.
As Quentin D put it :'As with all Yelp events, this is just a taster, a tease as to what the
venue is capable of, that first free hit to make you want to come back
for more… did it work? damn straight. I'll be back!"
One thing's for sure, Pacinos will have plenty of new regulars in, for research purposes you see. That food in there is too damn good!

Thank you again Pacinos for an evening of wonderful hospitality and spectacular food.
