Cincinnati Enters The Yelp Bodega at Salt Of The Earth

The food, the wine, the music, the dancers … a night at the Yelp Bodega is unlike any other.

The Cincinnati Elite Squad braved the year's firsr real snowstorm to travel to Salt of the Earth, a Madisonville restaurant known for their home cooked meals. Everything is made in house and their menu is always changing. Perfect for an evening of Spanish Wine and tapas!

Amy H said it best: “The space was full but not too crowded and the Yelpers that were there gave the place, normally a quiet lunch spot, a great energy.”

A table full of culinary wonders was prepared for the yelpers’ delight, from stuffed tomatoes to goat cheese frittatas to a delicious blackberry brie. “The best dish of the night was possibly the simplest: pesto pasta. Flavorful with an array of fresh veg, I found myself going back for seconds. The baked salmon was my second favorite, moist with the right amount of teriyaki sauce to compliment,” Paige M declared.

To complement this selection even further, seven different Spanish wines were put out for people to sample and pair. It was a night to remember.

Food and wine can stir up passion, but the room’s atmosphere is what kept is burning. Guests were enchanted by Cincinnati’s only true Flamenco guitar player, Jorge Wojtas, who’s fantastic finger work “made everything in the room so calm and warm,” Bill E sang.

Tagging in for Jorge were skilled Argentinean tangoists from Northside’s Tango del Barrio. Showing that you truly can dance anywhere and anytime the mood takes you, these artists performed spontaneously in the middle of the crowd, creating a small two-person tango flash mob. You never know what you’ll find at the Yelp Bodega.

Yelp Cincinnati kicked off 2012 with a bang. “From the glorious food, sweet guitar music and dance demonstrations, to some good conversations with fellow Yelpers, this was a great start to the year,” John B wrote. And we couldn’t agree more.
