School might be out for the summer, but Chicago’s North Shore welcomed the opportunity to connect the Chicagoland Yelp community with great local businesses through a handful of learning experiences open to anyone with a Yelp account. Throughout June and July, Yelp North Shore hosted its first mini-series of workshops, demos, tastings, and more with some of our favorite local businesses. Hands-On North Shore kicked off at Assembly Creators with taco earring Thursday, where guests got to make and take home Italian leather earrings. Up next, everyone went Kooky for Ukes at Aloha City Ukes and learned to play “Can’t Always Get What you Want” and “This Land is Your Land”. Continuing our journey to a restored firehouse, housing Chicago Mike’s Ice Cream and Tala Coffee Roasters, the community got schooled in espresso and tried their hands at making affogatos. To end the series, Koi Evanston hosted a sushi rolling event where guests made three maki rolls and got to eat them…of course! To view event photos and reviews, please click the above business links.
