On Wednesday, July 11, an intimate group of Elites were treated to a fabulous and sassy private dance class from none other than DivaDance Chicago. At 6:30pm, 20 ladies fiercely walked over to the American Rhythm Center in the Fine Arts Building on South Michigan Avenue, where they were about to slay to Beyoncé’s “7/11” — it was July 11, of course. Upon arriving, every Elite was greeted by the smiley owner of DivaDance Chicago, Molly Moore, boss lady extraordinaire.
While most dance classes are pre-planned and pre-choreographed down to every last count, DivaDance choreographer Chantel does things a little differently: She vibes. On this particular night, Chantel felt the good vibes in the room and guided these excited ladies to booty pop, shake, and kick until they were sweating, smiling, and yelling, “WOO!” and “YAAASS!” every five minutes. If anyone walked in feeling even slightly timid, that was all gone by 7:30pm.
After learning all of the choreography, the ladies performed the piece several times before breaking into groups and performing the piece for their Elite friends. The disappointment from class ending lingered in the air, but not for too long before everyone realized it was time to take photos, drink mimosas, and eat some snacks.
Mimosas provided at the end of class were from a gracious donation by Bai Bubbles, and ladies at the DivaDance event had the choice of enjoying either grapefruit or blood orange mimosas. KIND Snacks also sent some new treats to try, which the ladies got to snack on and bring home, too. Marcela Serna photography was present to take photographs of the girls as they learned their routines, but we promised we’d keep the sweaty pictures locked away in a private vault. 🙂
Food events are always fun, but fitness events provide some new and exciting challenges and opportunities for Elites as well. Thank you so much to DivaDance Chicago for hosting this event for our Elites. If you’re interested in trying a DivaDance class, your first class is always free, and you can check out their Chicago calendar here.
