There’s never a bad time for a patio party… except when the weather doesn’t cooperate with the plans. Luckily, Old Grounds Social in Lincoln Park features an all-season patio that they shared exclusively with Chicago Elites on September 18, so whatever the weather felt like doing would not put a damper on the evening!
A little before 6pm, Elites began arriving at the throwback-themed restaurant, located on Wrightwood and Lincoln Avenue, to check in and grab their wristbands for patio access. Some Elites who’d arrived extra early took advantage of OGs’s daily happy hour from 4-7, and ordered some half-off beers. Then, at 6 sharp, the party started!
Old Grounds Social was ready and put their best foot forward by offering a plethora of food and drink for Yelpers. For the duration of the event, every Elite with a wristband could choose from house wines, all draft beers (yes, ALL!), and samples of OGs’s cocktails. One Elite’s five-star feedback on the cocktails: “The drinks, even though sample size, left me feeling pretty darn good on the way out… I had planned for an outing after the event, but [we] were in no shape to go anywhere other than home. So that just goes to show you how good those drinks are.”
OGs also spoiled Elites when it came to food. From their famous wings, to nachos, to macaroni and cheese, potatoes, and sliders, typing out all of the food brought out by the OGs staff wouldn’t even cover it all. They truly kept surprising Yelpers and impressing them left and right!
And finally, not only did Old Grounds Social offer up their best eats and drinks, but the throwback theme of the joint blew everyone away. From a neon sign with Biggie Smalls’s “Juicy” lyrics, to records and murals all over the walls, OGs just drips with nostalgia. Along with aesthetically pleasing aspects, there are also games like pool, shuffleboard, giant Connect Four, giant Jenga, and more. How could Elites *not* have loved their time here?
Thank you so much to Heather and the team at Old Grounds Social in Lincoln Park for a memorable and nostalgic evening!
