Black History Month is a time where we celebrate all the accomplishments African Americans have achieved. In honor of that, we’ve highlighted a few incredible black-owned businesses that help contribute to Omaha’s success. From restaurants to barber shops, you’ll love supporting these businesses all year long.
Opening in March of 2020, this female and Black-owned coffee + clothing shop is #livingtheirbestlife and whether you’re male or female, their inspiring coffee labels will have you calling yourself a #bossbabe.
Making their mark on the Benson neighborhood, they’ve disrupted the coffee game with their rose and lavender lattes, with optional shots of CBD and Holly’s Healthy Holes for sale. Inside their colorful store, they’re multiple photo op vignettes that surely you’ve seen pop up on your Instagram feed.
Yelp Elite Cassidy J. says about her experience: “This is an instagramers dream! Such a cute place inside with different photo op locations! This place has some very unique latte flavors but don’t let that scare you! I went with a simple white mocha latte with almost milk and it was delicious!! My friend ordered the blue lavender latte and I gave it a try and it was even more delicious! I will be back to order that myself!”
Home made and locally owned rolled ice cream in the downtown area. Their take on hand rolled ice cream has taken the traditional ice purveyor by storm. The long lines from time to time are a testament to their tasty treats.
Yelp Elite Leah W. says “Omaha’s first black owned rolled Ice cream does not disappoint in flavor. The ice cream itself is so soft and I just couldn’t put it down after the first bite. They add the personal touch by putting your name on the inside and the ice cream looks so neat and nice when they are done.”
If you’ve been following the @YelpOmaha instagram, you’ve probably seen a few of our posts mentioning Omaha’s only Black-owned vegan burger bar, Naughty Buddha Burger Bar. They opened in August of 2020. Yep, they opened in the middle of a pandemic, and despite not qualifying for Federal aid to help stay open, they’ve relied on the good people of Omaha. Without our support they would have closed their doors over the holidays, but here we are in February and business is booming. This month we hosted a virtual event with owners Fatiah and El Ali, where they told their culinary history, and menu inspiration for keeping Omaha healthy.

Great atmosphere, great conversation (and honest conversation not idle small talk) to a quality haircut all while providing amazing customer service, I absolutely loved this place. Felt my haircut was given the time they needed to take, not rushed through to get to the next person. My time was my time and I was given complete attention to.
