From our roots in manufacturing to the recent renaissance of artisanal production, Brooklyn has always been a hub of creativity and industry. We want to shine a spotlight on this abundance of local ingenuity and determination, which is why we've launched the Brooklyn Born series of events. Last night, we headed inside the humble headquarters of Brooklyn Soda Works.
Located in the old Pfizer building, this local gem of a company is revolutionizing the way we think about soda. Born out of a desire to make the perfect Dark & Stormy, it was fitting that Antonio and Caroline, the co-founders of Brooklyn Soda Works, walked us through the process of making fantastic ginger beer. In additon, they led us through the history of soda (but didn't tell us how to make MDMA, we swear), the process behind BSW's incredible sodas, and of course, a taste of these wonderful sodas like apple ginger, cranberry mint, and a few more of their 30+ innovative flavors. As Ruwan J reports, "All in all a great night of knowledge, history, soda hacking, and most importantly supporting a hardworking local business that puts out quality products."
