An afternoon of perfectly cloudless skies got a little bit more perfecter, thanks to the refreshing libations, UV protection and oasis views from the outdoor patio at BOND Restaurant and Lounge.
More than 100 Elites and guests gathered outside the Langham Hotel Monday to soak up rays, tracks from DJ Mario and Bombay Sapphire cocktails, shaken stirred and strained masterfully from the staff of three outdoor bars. Taking the spirit to the next level, the lovely ladies of Sapphire offered blindfolded tastings of the gin, along with each of its botanical ingredients at the mini-World Bazaar.
Chef Evan Leavy sent out tasters of grilled artichoke, olive and Vermont goat cheese pizza, boxes of sweet and spicy calamari, tuna-watermelon pops, Wagyu beef tataki, and smoked New Bedford sea scallop with corn relish. For the sweeter teeth, the kitchen featured their signature BOND push pops, blueberry thyme soda with vanilla ice cream, and crispy banana fritters with mango coulis.
The rather impromptu event offered yelpers the goods to keep their peepers in tiptop "I spy" shape with brand spankin' new Yelp sunglasses and for the Elites, a very special chunk of accoutrement for their naked wrist. It was time to party, and now they had proof. Plus, two lucky winners roped in either a pair of VIP tickets to Taste of Cambridge or two tix to Second Glass' A Night in Lisbon. Sweet!
