Spring is finally here. Sunshine, trees blooming, birds singing…it almost makes you want to get out of the city and get back to nature. If you don't have the time or the means though, the Urban Cowboy is here for you. This B&B was conceived and built by Lyon Porter, and it's filled with Adirondack sensibilities in the heart of Williamsburg. Not only is it the perfect getaway, but they also happen to throw a kickass party. Just about all of my favorite things begin with the letter 'B,' and Urban Cowboy combined all of them on Saturday afternoon when they invited out Brooklyn's finest yelpers: Beer. Barbecue. Bed. Breakfast. Backyard. Brisket. Brooklyn. Check out the reviews, the photos from Liz Clayman, and read on for more of why you want to book your stay, STAT.

The season is certainly right for backyard barbecues. As Jennifer A reports, "Like little daffodils, the yelpers emerged just as soon as the frozen tundra that was New York transitioned into spring. It was clear that everyone was enjoying the sunny day," because how could they not? With suds from Saranac and a serious spread from Delaney BBQ, life was good. Mitch E got a little bit of everything: "When it was time to eat I got a giant piece of brisket, a slab of turkey, some pulled pork, delicious potato salad, and a scoop full of cole slaw. The brisket was amazing."

For the first time though, it wasn't all about the food and drink. Like Lori L says, "The actual venue deserves much more acclaim…stepping into Urban Cowboy is truly an escape from New York City. From the open garage door that serves as an entrance, to the compact (but surprisingly well-stocked) bar table, to the airy kitchen that looks like it was poached from the cover of a Bon Appétit magazine, it truly is in a category of its own."

Kenny C swears it's "rustic, modern, hip, cozy, urban, southern, and Brooklyn all at once. From the survivalist books to the old school gramophones to the new school speaker systems to the fur and leather studded toilet seats to the garage doors," everyone was itching to move in. I'd have to agree with Nadia Z that it's "pretty unbelievable that this place exists in the heart of Brooklyn. It's incredibly charming, and designed with an amazing sense of style and attention to detail."

So what are you waiting for? Stephanie A swears "you will get nothing but the best from Lyon and Jersey as their hospitality is to the max. They also have a hot tub, a sauna, and a BBQ grill in the backyard…talk about relaxing. Rather than blowing money on a hotel that doesn't have much to offer I would highly recommend the experience of this B&B!"

A huge thanks goes out to Lyon & Jersey for their incredible hospitality. I know a staycation is in order soon for my wife and I, and I hope to see the rest of you over there in that backyard!
Cheers,
