Garden Cafe at Woodstock, Woodstock, NY
Just 100 miles away from New York City, Garden Cafe at Woodstock entices yelpers with a completely vegan menu featuring buffalo cauliflower tacos, black and white peppercorn crusted tofu and a vibrant specials board. “I’ve been to this place a few times this year while on hiking trips up north and it is excellent. I really like the lasagna, immune boosting tea, lemon raspberry cake and the tofu with satay sauce. The Malbec by the glass is great. My friend really enjoyed the portobello panini.” – Cri C
Moosewood Restaurant, Ithaca, NY
A visit to the iconic Moosewood Restaurant in the scenic Fingerlakes region of New York State is a must for any intrepid vegan Yelper. The menu changes daily, depending on what is in season. “So when my husband and I came up to the Finger Lakes area for a weekend getaway, Moosewood was an absolutely must stop for me. I got the reuben burger, a maple latte with oat milk and a piece of almond amaretto pound cake… Everything was delicious, and I wish we lived closer because it would totally be more of a staple.” – Beth H

Planning a trip to the Catskills? Stop in at this five star vegan establishment where “the yellow curry, mixed vegetables, and coconut jasmine rice all worked incredibly well together. The medium spice had a perfect slow buildup in the back of my mouth and intensified with each new bite…. The fact that I discovered a full vegetarian restaurant while standing atop a mountain still blows my mind.” – George L

For many a feminist vegan, Bloodroot has been a must-visit in this picturesque port city for 44 years. “I am hard-pressed to think of another restaurant that appeals to so many of the things I love – delicious vegan cooking, a large section of feminist literature, and a cozy interior filled with antique treasures and photographs to celebrate the lives of unnamed women. Not too mention the outdoor seating with a gorgeous view of the marina! I strongly recommend the vegan cheese platter (the creamy ricotta was my favorite!)” – Meghan M

Southwestern New Hampshire’s only 100% plant-based restaurant is also a health food store with plenty of vegan goodies to take home. “We ordered a ‘chicken’ burrito and soy falafel, which were big enough for two servings, a broccoli ‘cheddar’ soup, a soy vegetable soup, corn chips, two non-dairy cheesecake deserts (strawberry and blueberry) and two fruit bars (raspberry and blueberry). Those in the Philly and NYC metros looking for a destination dining experience need look no further than the lovely Sprig & Vine in New Hope, where dishes are a work of art. “We started with the grilled hearts of palm tacos which were delicious! The BBQ tempeh sandwich has some of the best BBQ sauce I’ve had in a long time. The chile aioli rocked and the tempeh was the perfect consistency. Loved by both non vegans and vegans. Here are my top favorites EVER: #1 is definitely the peanut butter pie, also the red velvet whoopie pies, confetti cake, carrot cake, zucchini cake, vanilla cupcakes, cream filled frownie-face doughnuts, brownie batter ice cream, and the gluten free peanut butter cheesecake!” – Christen G
