On May 24th, Minneapolis and St. Paul Yelpers didn’t have to leave the cities for an all-inclusive Caribbean “vacation” at Pimento Jamaican Kitchen. PJK recently opened up their location on “Eat Street”, after previous success with their food truck, Burnsville location, and winning Food Court Wars on Food Network! We are grateful for their delicious and authentic Jamaican cuisine which features bold flavors passed down for generations.
Yelps’ Staycation kicked off with some summery schwag (leis, Yelp hand fans, and red hot shades), cold bottles of Red Stripe, and spicy Jamaican patties in a colorful setting and open patio. As the guests mingled in the tropical weather and vibes, more authentic Jamaican cuisine flowed out of PJK’s kitchen: slow-cooked oxtail, fried plantains, jerk pork and chicken, coconut rice, several house-made sauces, and more!
If the food didn’t kick up the heat enough, The PJK crew and Yelpers broke out in a full blown dance party, followed by a conga line and limbo! The party continued through the night with a few passionate words from the owners, and ended with local ice cream with spiced vanilla drizzle.
