Just when we began to think we were too old for a sleepover, fate intervened and local businesses took over.
Gold-badge Yelp Elites (5+ years as elites) packed their duffel bags and drove out to Fishers favorite, Prairie Guest House. Guests swung open their individual rooms and were greeted by an incredible assortment of local teas, coconut oil, magazines, floral arrangements, chocolates soaps and more.
Initial socializing led to a tour of the guest house grounds, with local businesses stationed throughout. Hoosier Popcorn kicked it off with their business story and incredible samples. Next, everyone sipped Four Day Ray Brewing while learning about the plans for the new location. Rosie’s Place snagged everyone’s sweet tooth with mounds of scones, cake, and cookies galore. Goats played by a barn as Pampered Goat owner fed everyone goat-milk fudge and taught everyone about the specific breed.
As night fell and the moon rose, guests piled around a stately, wooden table in the guest house and nibbled on tasty delicacies from Small Potatoes Indy. Edible Indy spoke about their new magazine release, and Ash & Elm Cider Co educated everyone with spunky cider samples.
“Goodnights” were announced, however, the event wasn’t over.
Alarm clocks chorused through the guest house at 7:30am, preparing guests for a peaceful morning in the Prairie Guest House yoga studio, followed by a healthy brunch (two reasons that make getting up early desirable). After brunch, the Gold Squad headed home, well-rested and well-nourished from their perfect mini-getaway.
