June in Boise is dreamy. The recent spring showers leave the foothills a green that resembles Ireland, the weather is warming up but isn’t yet too hot to bear and you can expect to find nothing but blue skies for miles. In town for a short amount of time? We caught up with Amie A, Yelp’s Boise Community Ambassador, to see what a perfect day in the gem of the Treasure Valley looks like!

8AM: Java Hyde Park
Rise and shine with breakfast and coffee in Boise’s North End Neighborhood. Sit on the charming outdoor patio while you sip on an iced latte, or cozy up inside next to the fireplace with a “bowl of soul.” Amie’s tip: Get here before 9 am and score their “Early Bird” special for breakfast – two eggs, two pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of toast and a 12 ounce coffee (with unlimited refills) for a whopping $6.

9AM: Kirkham Hot Springs
After fueling up you’ll want to hop in the car, swing by Main Street Deli to stock up on bites (don’t miss the “Downtowner“) and head up the ID55. Enjoy this mini road trip through Idaho’s stunning backyard before arriving to Kirkham hot springs. Soak in mountain water while you overlook the Snake River and be sure to snag an Insta-worthy shot or two.
Once back in town, waste no time! Make your way over to Pedego Electric Bikes! Hop on the Boise River Greenbelt and make sure you ride past Boise State University to take a peek at the smurf turf, wave hello to the giraffes housed at Zoo Boise in Julia Davis Park, and then zip up to Camel’s Back Park for a quick hike (this view will help you understand why it’s called “The City Of Trees”) and then roll your way downtown for a delicious dinner.

Sit on the patio and enjoy a view of 8th street while you sip on the “Le Bourget”, Bittercreek’s Old Fashion, or any of the local brews on tap. When it comes to noshing, might we suggest the Poutine? French fries, topped with shredded duck meat, cheese, and gravy. As for the main attraction, The Bittercreek Burger, Mac & Cheese, or (for a lighter option) the Apple Walnut Salad.

After dinner, bike over to The STIL for an ice cream and beer flight. Pair four ice creams of your choice with four beers on tap. This favorite makes all of their ice cream in house with locally sourced ingredients. Each bite (and sip) offers a euphoric experience as all of their flavors taste like “The Sweetest Things In Life”. Never thought you’d taste “Breakfast in Bed”, “Southern Porch”, or “Idaho Wilderness” in the form of ice cream? Think again.
Two unique locations easily reached from downtown have plenty of amenities for the traveler on-the-go. The Modern Hotel & Bar boasts an award winning cocktail program and social media worthy decor (a genius of a remodel, formerly a Travelodge). If you’d like a place that feels more like home, The Boise Guest House features a selection of rooms with kitchens and pet-friendly perks.
This is a true 24 hour experience so rise, shine and go into your last few hours in Boise glistening. Boise Hot Yoga features some top notch instructors that will walk you step by step through their 80 minute Bikram classes. A little stretch and a good sweat to start the day on the right foot? Yes, please.

Now it’s time to put the cherry (or kale) on top of a great trip. Head next door and replenish from your workout with fresh pressed juices and acai bowls. Choose from a menu full of 100% organic juices like the Holy Kale, RePear, and Turn Up The Beet. Maybe try Amie’s personal favorite, the Peanut Butter Bowl with a Recover wellness shot on the side.
