Service Area: A New Feature For Mobile Businesses

Business owners and consumers have both requested a new Yelp function for service-based businesses that will show where and how far the business will travel. For example, if I’m a photographer based in San Francisco, but I also service the nearby town of Palo Alto, it would be nice to have the ability to specify that on my Yelp listing. Well, welcome our newest Service Area feature to the party.

Starting today, business owners in service-based categories who have claimed their Yelp page will be able to add up to 6 major cities to their areas of service via our Business Owner Tools!

And since yelpers are increasingly relying on their Yelp mobile apps to find businesses when out and about (especially when in a bind; hint, hint, mechanics, locksmiths, etc), help them make it even easier for consumers to find you on Yelp wherever you might be — or go!

The following business categories will see this new feature on their dashboard on biz.yelp.com:
