Supporting Asian-owned businesses is more important than ever amid an alarming increase in violence targeting the Asian community and a long history of anti-Asian racism in the U.S.
To help consumers show support and appreciation for Asian communities and businesses, we’re launching a new, searchable Asian-owned business attribute for Yelp Pages and amplifying the voices of Asian business owners.

Asian-owned attribute
Business owners can add the new “Asian-owned” attribute to display on their Yelp Page. This free, searchable attribute helps consumers find and support Asian-owned businesses in their communities.
This attribute is now available and is an opt-in only feature, as the decision to identify as Asian-owned should rest solely with the business.
If you are an Asian-owned business and want to add the attribute to your Yelp Page and to appear in “Asian-owned” search results, you can opt-in via your Yelp for Business account by following these simple steps:
- Log in to Yelp for Business (Business Information tab)
- In the Amenities section, click Add or Edit
- Select Yes next to “Asian-owned”
- Click Save Changes
Did you know?
- All businesses that select the Asian-owned attribute will be sent a free window decal in the mail (eligible for businesses with a physical location listed on Yelp).
- We have Mandarin-speaking representatives available for customer support. Log in to your Yelp for Business account for contact information, and ask for a Mandarin-speaking contact.
- You can change the language—such as traditional Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Bahasa Malaysia, and more—on yelp.com, biz.yelp.com, and blog.yelp.com.
- You can add unlimited attributes to your page to help you identify your business, including Latinx-owned, Black-owned, Women-owned, and more. Add your choice of attributes by following the same instructions as above.
- To celebrate Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month (APIHM), the Yelp Community team is hosting dozens of virtual events with local API businesses, from noodle-making to Tagalog classes. All events are free to join—check back often as the list is being updated regularly.
