For small businesses these days, the only constant is change. We get it—which is why we regularly update Yelp for Business so you can better communicate important information to the millions of consumers who use Yelp every month to discover and learn about local businesses.
Here are some of the latest Yelp updates for business owners, all of which are available now when you log in to your Yelp for Business account. While you’re there, be sure to make any necessary updates to your page to reflect your current operations, offerings, and safety measures.

Latinx-owned attribute
Business owners with Latinx heritage can add the new “Latinx-owned” attribute to display on their Yelp Page. This free, searchable attribute helps consumers find and support local businesses of color. The attribute is available today for business owners to select.
How to add “Latinx-owned” to your Yelp Page
- Log in to Yelp for Business (Business Information tab)
- In the Amenities section, click Add or Edit
- Select Yes next to “Latinx-owned”
- Click Save Changes
Why “Latinx”?
There are many terms commonly used to describe people of Latinx heritage. Before selecting “Latinx-owned” as the inclusive, gender-neutral label for this new attribute, we did research, polled Latinx Yelp employees, and spoke to members of the Latinx community and groups such as the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and our partner Momento Latino.
New guest management features for restaurants
Restaurants can more easily track history and dining preferences for their regular diners with new features in Yelp Waitlist Plus.
- Record food preferences and special notes for regulars using Guest Tag
- Track Visit History each time a guest joins your waitlist
- Expedite check-in with name and phone number Auto-Fill
These new features are available today in the app for all Waitlist Plus customers, but you’ll need the latest version installed to see these additions.
New service offerings
Keeping your page up to date with the services you’re currently offering helps consumers looking for those services find your business on Yelp. We’ve recently added hundreds of new service offerings for dozens of business categories, including Financial Advising, Septic Services, Stereo Installation, DJs, Massage Therapy, Florists, Real Estate Services, Dentistry, Insurance, Vets, Bail Bondsmen, Notaries, Recycling Centers, and many others.
For example, if you’re a DJ, you can now specify the type of music you specialize in, like Oldies or K-pop. If you are in the septic services business, you can now specify that you handle tank installation and replacement.
To see the category-based service offerings that are available to add to your Yelp Page for free, log in to your Yelp for Business account, click the Business Information tab, then click Edit or Add in the Categories and Services section.
