Customizable buttons in Yelp Connect
By popular demand, businesses using Yelp Connect can now customize the call to action (CTA) button in their posts. With a new list of options for the text and associated action for the button, businesses can more closely tie the CTA button to the post content. The customizable buttons will appear on posts both on Yelp and in the regular digest emails that go to consumers.
Examples of the new customizable CTAs include (options vary by business category):
- Call (XXX) XXX-XXXX
- Get directions
- View business
- Visit website
- View more photos
- See portfolio
- [Custom URL]
- Call now (coming soon)
- Message business (coming soon)
- Request a quote (coming soon)
If you’re a Connect customer, you can use one of the new CTA buttons now by logging in to your Yelp for Business account, going to the Yelp Connect tab, and clicking “Create post.” As part of setting up your post, you’ll be able to select the button label and action to be taken when users click the button. We’ll add more actions and CTA text options in the future, so stay tuned.

Health and safety information
It’s important to keep your Yelp Page up to date with COVID-related operational information, including health and safety protocols, so consumers feel comfortable and know what to expect. You can log in to your Yelp for Business account anytime to make these and other updates to your Yelp Page.
Similar to how users can provide Yelp with feedback on whether a business is “kid-friendly” or “great for groups,” we’re now reflecting our users’ observations about businesses’ safety practices during the pandemic. When we can gather enough data from patrons of a business, that page will display feedback directly from customers on how the business is handling safety precautions, to further validate the information provided by the business.
At this time, “social distancing enforced” and “staff wears masks” are the only properties where user feedback can be displayed because these are the health and safety precautions that can be most easily observed by customers.
New resources for businesses
Your Yelp for Business account is your go-to for everything you need to manage your Yelp Page. In addition, Yelp has two new online resources for business owners to check out.
- The Yelp for Business website houses information about Yelp products and features plus loads of educational and inspirational resources to watch and read.
- This resource center for restaurants is a growing collection of lessons, advice, and news created and told by restaurateurs from all over the world.
We’ll be adding new resources to both of these in the coming weeks and months. To keep up with the latest, follow us:
