With the Coronavirus completely changing how we all do business, it’s important to keep your online information up to date so customers know exactly what you’re offering during this difficult time.
To help communicate these operational changes, we’ve added a COVID-19 Advisory Alert banner to the top of all Yelp Business Pages. You can edit this alert to share a custom message with specific updates during this pandemic.

A number of businesses are using this feature to communicate different types of updates. Here are some of the most informative and helpful examples we’ve seen.
Offering services by phone and text
Many businesses are continuing to offer services by phone, like Bay Area Adult ADHD. Their alert banner states, “We have expanded our tele-therapy services to reach more individuals in need of assessment and therapy for ADHD.”

We’re also seeing services offered via text. 24/7 Computer Solutions uses their banner to let their customers know they’re always available via text or phone.
Providing take-out and delivery
With most restaurant dine-in capabilities suspended, take-out and delivery options are more important than ever. Jessi’s Restaurant is a great example of how to communicate with the community. They also highlight the option to purchase gift cards to support their business.

Similarly, Choice of India utilizes their advisory alert as an opportunity to educate customers on their delivery options and updated times. They also voiced how much they value their customers: “We appreciate your continued support and loyalty. We can’t wait to reopen our doors to you soon! Stay safe.”
Caobao Hot Steamy Buns promotes free curbside delivery for customers that order on their site.

Taking extra precautions
We’re seeing essential businesses use their Yelp alert to reassure consumers that they’re going the extra mile to keep everyone safe. Diversity Moving Company says, “Rest assured, we’re open as usual and taking proper precautions when moving clients. We’ve implemented all recommendations by the CDC.”
Appliance Expert specifically lists the precautionary measures they are taking. “I wear a respirator at all service calls, do frequent hand washing, and can make other changes at your request. I observe social distancing within your home or you can leave the home during service if you wish.”

Reduced hours of operation
As businesses shorten hours of operation, it’s important to publicize those changes. Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery does a great job communicating their adjusted hours.

Keep in mind, in addition to highlighting reduced hours in your banner, you can also add a special set of operating hours to your Yelp page.
Video appointments
If your business requires face-to-face interaction, there are a plethora of video technology platforms that can be used to extend your offerings and services. LA Vocal Coaching is using its banner to list all the video options they’re using during these times: “Lessons can be done via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, or Facebook Messenger. Stay Positive! We can get through this together.”
Score Physical Therapy uses the alert to provide extensive information about online options for their clients, offering telehealth video visits and self-care PT.

Highlight specific services/products
Under these circumstances, businesses can spotlight services that may not have always been at the forefront. Bianca Bakery promotes the option for custom cakes and pastries.

Similarly, Idaho Marine is operating on limited hours and shifting focus to shipment of parts.
