Yelp’s Belmar Bonanza at Locust Cider

On Tuesday night, 80 members of the Yelp Elite Squad (YES!) attended a cider and sandwich sampling at Locust Cider in Lakewood, CO. As one of Yelp Denver’s first in-person events since March 2020, the energy and excitement was infectious. Our hosts, ever welcoming. Our community, just as friendly as we remember.

Locust Cider is known for bold flavors deviating from the norm, while also respecting tradition throughout the process. You won’t find any artificial sweeteners here; only 100% real ingredients. After guests checked in, they immediately made their way to the bar for a signature cider. A complex and unique cider menu awaited them—with the Vanilla Bean, Dark Cherry and Honey Pear offerings being the most popular orders of the night.

What’s a party without delicious bites, right? STACK Subs (just a stone’s throw from the Belmar taproom) catered the event with various party platters of signature sandwiches. Owners, husband and wife duo Rick and Ann Koerner, handed out their delicious creations until the last sandwich was served. Highlights were the Spicy Pesto Veggie, Turkey Bacon Special, Italian, Ham Dilly Dilly and STACK sandwiches, which had guests going back for more!

Yelp events are all about taking our online community offline—allowing them to experience local businesses and connect with fellow community members. Due to COVID-19, the last year and a half has been an uphill challenge when it comes to organizing experiences for the community. This event allowed us to safely reconnect with one another, meet new people and experience local businesses again.

Good food, good drinks and good company. What else do you need?
