May was Asian Pacific Islander Heritage month, and Yelp North Jersey celebrated in a big way! There are so many amazing Asian Pacific Islander-Owned businesses around North Jersey, and it was a wonderful way to support and celebrate. Throughout the month, Yelpers were able to take advantage of several offerings at various businesses including virtual Yelp events, special perks for Yelp Elites and check-in offers on Yelp.
Let’s take a look at some of the memories, meals and moments that made this month so special.
VIRTUAL EVENTS //
Our first virtual event was led by Priyanka, owner of Knead Some Love NY. During this event Yelpers ordered DIY donut kits and learned how to create picture perfect Indian-fusion donuts and bundts at home. There were a variety of delicious flavors like rose pistachio, chai latte and vegan toasted coconut! These are not your average donuts, and Yelpers loved learning how to decorate these uniquely handcrafted desserts. Check out the five star reviews here!
We kept the sweet treats going with our next virtual event, where Yelpers learned how to make Korean stuffed mochi waffles with Moffle Bar. Moffle Bar is the home of the original mochi stuffed waffle, and they sell a variety of their delicious mix online. Yelpers from all over the country ordered their mix, tuned in and learned how to make this tasty creation from Moffle Bar owner, Selina. A few lucky local Yelpers even received mini waffle irons with their order! Check out the fantastic reviews here.
ELITE EXPERIENCES //
We kicked off the first of four Elite check-in weeks at Curry Up Now Hoboken. They are best known for offering Indian street food in a fast casual setting. Though they have several locations around the country this is their first spot in NJ! Yelpers were able to enjoy a delicious burrito or a bowl and a refreshing drink! Reviews and mouth watering pics can be found here.
Next Yelp Elite took a trip to Mochinut Norwood. Mochinut is serving up delicious mochi donuts and Korean rice flour hot dogs. They have recently expanded into NJ and Yelpers are going crazy for these sweet and delicious donuts! Yelp Elite were able to enjoy two donuts of their choice and snagged a cool pair of Yelp shades. Check out reviews here!
After some sweet treats it was time for more savory eats! Yelp Elite were able to use a credit to enjoy some homemade delivered dishes from Jaipur Kitchen. Jaipur Kitchen is a weekly meal delivery service of healthy, homestyle and authentic Indian food, inspired by the Jaipur, Rajasthan region. They deliver to various towns all over NJ, and their menu changes weekly! Yelpers tried a medley of dishes including savory samosas, chicken dahiwala, flavorful lentil stew and more. See for yourself and check out the event page here!
Yelp Elite finished off a month of fabulous experiences at Monkey Pops in Cliffside Park. They get it poppin’ and specialize in all things pop — popsicles, popping bubble teas plus snack and confectionery products imported from Japan! Yelp Elite were able to satisfy their sweet tooth, and got to order either a large boba, a popsicle, a cake pop or a macaron pop! With so many choices and flavors the possibilities were endless. Elites also grabbed some sweet Yelp swag including metal boba straws. See the goodness for yourself here!
