In August, members of the Atlanta Yelp Elite Squad were invited to visit My Abeula’s Food for a special sampling of their Puerto Rican options. Elite Squad members were given the choice of pernil (slow-roasted marinated pork leg) or vegan jackfruit. Each dish was served with rice, beans, maduros and tostones.
Elites raved about the tostones. “The tostones were perfectly fried, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside while being ever so-lightly seasoned,” Yelp Elite Squad member Doug G. said.
In partnership with La Dolce Madness, Elites tried special Latin-inspired vegan desserts! La Dolce Madness operates inside of My Abuela’s Food in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. Elite Squad members were given a special sample size of dulce de leche cake. “I don’t have the biggest sweet tooth, but the tres leches was amazing! The size was perfect because it is pretty sweet,” Angelica D. said.
This YES! Meal included a special Yelp collectible item – a limited edition fanny pack! The meal, dessert, a drink and fanny pack were all packed nicely into a Yelp reusable tote back for Elites to pick up after placing their order online.
Thank you to My Abuela’s Food for treating the Atlanta Elite Squad like regulars! Interested in ordering from My Abuela’s Food? Check out their website for online orders. And keep an eye on their instagram @myabuelasfood for seasonal menu updates!
