The highest-rated camping spot in every state

This summer could be a little different than most. Festivals, fairs, concerts, and long vacays might be off of the itinerary, but that doesn’t mean summertime is cancelled.

Campgrounds across the country are reopening, and tenters are taking to the fresh air and campfire vibes to get out of the house and into the great outdoors.

Mike T passes along a pro tip for campers at Camden State Park in Maine: “I can’t believe I’m telling you this, but here it is—if you’re tent camping, you want Site 81… It’s so far away from all of the other sites! You’ll have the place to yourself.”

In Idaho, Sonya L stays at Bruneau Dunes State Park and calls it, “Such an incredible place to camp! The campsite was very well maintained and offered clean bathrooms and hot showers. The dunes offer an incredible view of both the valley and lake, I recommend watching the sunset from the peak.”

When in Wyoming, options to sleep under the stars abound. Kevin L gives Grand Teton National Park the edge over Yellowstone, explaining, “The camp spaces are roomier, the backdrop more colorful, and it’s just my favorite camping spot of all time.”
