Maine Celebrates Bicentennial

“There are sixteen counties in our state
Cumberland and Franklin
Piscataquis and Kennebec
Oxford, Androscoggin
Waldo, Washington, and York
Lincoln, Knox, and Hancock
Sagadahoc and Somerset
Aroostook and Penobscot.”

Every Maine kid grew up learning The Sixteen Counties Song. From her rocky shores (nearly 3,500 miles of coastline) to her expansive woodlands (about 90% of Maine is forested), there isn’t an inch of this beautiful state that we don’t love. Whether you’d like to see where the sun shines first in the U.S. (visit Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor, Lubec’s Porcupine Mountain, or the city of Eastport) or fill your belly up in our now world-renowned foodie scene, there’s no doubt in our minds why Maine is considered one of the top four destinations in the entire world to visit for 2020. And there’s no better year for it since the 207 is celebrating her Bicentennial on March 15th.

We could write a love letter all about the things that make Maine (and the people who call her home) so unique, genuine, and one-of-a-kind, but we’ll let the following Yelp Collections do the talking for us.
