On Tuesday, December 10th, the Yelp community gathered for crafts and holiday cheer at Rec Room Craft Co. in Walker’s Point. It was a fun and relaxing weeknight for Yelpers to mingle, check out the new studio bar, and enjoy some refreshing cocktails and treats!
As guests arrived, they checked-in to the event to receive Yelp swag and their cocktail ticket. While enjoying the retro-style atmosphere, including a 70’s stripe mural and plenty of both handmade and thrifted decor, Cranberry Mules were being *crafted* behind the bar.
Drinks in hand, Yelpers made their way up the the small staircase to the crafting area. The elevated workspace is colorful and stacked with all the tools needed to create the craftiest of items. Giant worktables line the room, at which stations were set up for build-your-own retro-inspired ornaments and gift tags! Bowls of glittery and shiny bits and brightly colored starburst decals were the decorative pieces to add to the clear shatterproof ornament casings. Multiple rolls of green hued washi tape were available for DIY gift tag designing. It was certainly an imaginative group!
Rec Room Craft Co. is located in the Walker’s Point neighborhood of Milwaukee. A little bit old-school, a little bit new-school, a whole lot of fun. Owner, Krista, says the space is inspired by endless hours of crafting growing up. Her studio bar is the adult version of popsicle sticks, pom poms and juiceboxes. Tools, materials, the space, and clean up crew needed to make fun and functional craft projects are all provided, all you have to do is show up! Check out their upcoming events and workshops for all to enjoy.
A big thank you to Rec Room Craft Co. for having the community in for a memorable, and creative night! Yelpers have spoken – check out their 5-star reviews here. A huge thank you to Devan Shepherd for capturing the evening. Her photos can be found here.
