Yelpers Headed To The Desert For Palm “Springs Away!”

Name four awesome things found in the city of Palm Springs… Unique architecture, gorgeous pools, delicious ice-cold cocktails, and an amazing community of Yelpers from all over the country. This multi-market weekend promo had Yelp OC & Yelp Inland Empire showcasing a whole different side of this “hidden in plain sight” desert oasis.

Nearly 350-guests explored Palm Spring for three days straight by event hopping all over the city while indulging in a variety of its local fare. Some highlights included: breakfast and Bloody Marys at Peabody’s Cafe, a Palm Canyon Drive fave; sipping on martinis at LuLu California Bistro; and enjoying exclusive house made “pop-tarts” at the world famous Wilma & Frieda’s Cafe. Just in case you were still hungry, Tommy Bahama’s Marlin Bar and TRIO got into the foodie frenzy with their delicious mac n’ cheese and the always classic, Tommy Bahama Mai Tai! Wabi Sabi even got in on the fun with sake tastings and a look at Japanese culture. To wrap things up, Mr. Lyons Steakhouse offered up their private prohibition room, Seymours, which gave the Yelpers time to relax, mingle with friends and relish in everything they had experienced thus far.

The weekend wasn’t just about eating and drinking cocktails by the pool. Yelpers and their guests had access to all sorts of engaging physical activities like state-of-the-art spin classes at Full Psycle and Desert Rocks Indoor Climbing Center to really get the blood pumping. Not into fitness? Escape Room Palm Springs offered up a little bit of mystery and a whole lot of team building at their highly rated venue. We hear the Vampire Room is pretty spooky! The Shag Store was the most talked about event during Saturday’s festivities. Yelpers were able to take-in some local Palm Springs Culture and color. Shag himself even made an appearance and raffled away one of his art pieces. This event wasn’t just about art, but also supporting the local animal shelter which raised close to $1,000 at the event! Why not wrap-up a great day with a view to match, which is exactly what the Kimpton offered. Stunning panoramic city views, cocktails and poolside snacks! BTW – The headline photo used for this blog is from the balcony of 4-Saints at the Kimpton/Rowan.

Beyond the mainstays of downtown Palm Springs, things got a little wild at the Living Desert Zoo. Guests enjoyed behind the scenes zoo tours and hand-fed a giraffe! The Living Desert has been a leader in the conservation of the world’s deserts as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and rely on the generosity of donors to sustain their operations. Visit them on your next trip out to the desert!

Each day of the weekend getaway ended with a pop! On Friday night, the Saguaro Palm Springs hosted over 200-Yelpers to a quintessential Palm Springs soiree. Guests partied poolside all the while enjoying light bites and a multitude a beverages. Who doesn’t like hanging with friends under the stars on a mild summer night?!

Not to be outdone, Agua Caliente Resort and Casino pulled out all the stops for the Yelpers’ last night in the desert. Three fully stocked bars, four fully loaded food stations, live music, credits for gambling in the casino and an absolute gorgeous venue. Agua Caliente also created a scavenger hunt that offered extra treats for the guests, which all ended with a giant five-layer chocolate cake to celebrate Yelp’s 15th Burstday!
