To kick off LatinX Heritage Month, Yelp Denver and Maria Empanada teamed up for not one, but two, Yelp Elite Events at their Platte St. restaurant. 30 Yelpers attended each event, the first being an exclusive Empanada Making Class, the second, an engaging Salsa Dancing Class.
Empanada Making Class
After receiving the rundown for the evening and history of the brand by Victor Arango, Director of Marketing, Communications, and PR, Yelpers immediately turned their attention to Jose, head baker for Maria Empanada. He led the class with wit and attention to detail. Yelpers crafted two empanadas from scratch, Spinach & Caprese, and gained an infinite appreciation for the empanada making process. Of course, they were able to eat their creations afterwards, to high praise and acclaim. Read the rave reviews of the event.
Salsa Dancing Class
On night two, Yelpers showed up in their dancing shoes for a fun-filled night of Salsa and Bachata. Before hitting the dancefloor, Maria Empanada unveiled their newest creation, Tarta Jerez, consisting of Ground Beef, Sweet Potatoes, Béchamel Sauce, Tomato Sauce and Feta Cheese. Paired with a glass or two of Sangria, Yelpers were ready to learn.
Professional Dance Instructors, Nico and Yules, opened up the dancefloor and educated Yelpers on the art of Salsa and Bachata. Their clear instruction and leading by example had Yelpers smiling, laughing, and dancing as if they had been doing these traditional dances for years. Read the glowing reviews of the event.
Yelp Denver would like to personally thank the Maria Empanada staff including PR Director, Victor Arango, for ensuring the Yelp Elite Squad with two 5-star experiences. Photos of the event can be found on our Yelp Colorado Facebook page, courtesy of Amy K. Wright Photography.
