These folks not only have a stellar reputation on and off Yelp, but their personable service, welcoming ownership, and dedication to their crafts has made them into local legends.
Check out the highlight video here of our own Chicago Burbs CM, Nicole G, surprising these local legends with gifts of appreciation, and read on for more about why these local businesses truly deserved this surprise.
First up is 1910 in Geneva, Illinois. The owners of this trendy unique bar are Sergio & Lindsey De Los Santos. Gretchen B sings their praises in her review: “I’ve been here multiple times now and the food isn’t only amazing but the staff is as well. It’s so comforting and welcoming to walk in with the positive attitudes. Everyone wants you to enjoy your time, then you receive your food and it completes the experience. From the music, to the dancing, and the swings at the bar. The drinks are great. There’s an old fashioned that’s fantastic (the glass is smoked on white oak and the rim is wiped around with an orange peel) and you can tell a lot of thought and experimentation went into crafting the drinks. And if you’re a fish taco person you’d love them, and the queso…A new twist on modern Mexican food and a different menu than you’d see at most places. Highly recommend it. Shout out to Antonio and Evan, two of the hardest and most fun workers at 1910 I know!” Way to go 1910!
The second business we surprised was Church Street Brewing Company in Itasca, Illinois. The owner of this friendly-laid back brewery is Lisa Gregor. Adam L insists that “You won’t find better people than those behind the bar here at Church Street. The people are unbelievably friendly and the beer is second to none (Ask for recommendations, the staff knows their stuff). They also regularly have local musicians playing, and have games, vinyl nights, and a ton of other cool activities that will keep you coming back. Do yourself a favor and stop in.” Congrats Church Street Brewing Company!
C’zar Salon Spa in Naperville, Illinois was our third local legend. The owners of this stunning Aveda Concept Salon are Evonne Rutz, Debbie Nachreiner, and Gina Sowa. Sara M expressed her love for this soothing salon on Yelp: “Such a great experience! My last hairstylist went on maternity leave, and I decided it was a good time to find a place that I loved – not just liked. I didn’t have to look for long! I have a penchant for Aveda salons, but this is one of the best that I’ve been to – the scalp massage! The hand massage while my hair was getting blown out! It was like I died and went to heaven. Not to mention my stylist, Jessica, was the sweetest thing. She asked a ton of questions to get to know me and my hair better, and showed me what products she was using without it feeling like she was pushing products on me (because that’s the worst). She genuinely wanted me to recreate what she was doing on my hair when I got home.I never, ever pre-book haircuts, but I am already looking forward to going back. Well done, C’zar! (And Jessica, you hair magician.)” You earned it C’zar Salon Spa!
Yelp wouldn’t be who we are today without these local legends, and the folks recommending their businesses with their amazing reviews and photos.
Thank you so much for all that you do, and cheers to 15 years!
