On a beautiful Saturday in September, Yelp Elite members from Connecticut and Rhode Island commemorated the end of the season with Yelp Goes to Camp, a childhood throwback to our summer camp glory days. Set on the picturesque grounds of Tamarack Lodge, an indie glamping resort in Voluntown, CT, 120 yelpers came together for a day of endless snacks, cocktails, nostalgic crafts, s’mores over the firepit, campy selfie station and more. It was a gorgeous day to explore the venue’s historic grounds, from the serene lake to the wooded trails and glamping cabins.
After trying their hand at classic camp crafts (hello, tie dye and friendship bracelets), attendees channeled their competitive side and competed in a series of field games ranging from potato sack races to tug of war and egg-on-spoon races.
Next up, it was time to celebrate Yelp’s 15th birthday! Yelpers got the chance to decorate cupcakes to sprinkled perfection, don party hats, and add to a photo wall outlining why they loved being part of the Elite Squad. They also wrote thoughtful birthday cards for The Confetti Foundation, an organization dedicated to creating memorable birthday parties for children hospitalized on their birthday.
Closing out the afternoon, guests took to the firepit and enjoyed an epic s’mores bar courtesy of Smashmallow gourmet marshmallows.
