Supporting Working Parents at Yelp

With Mother’s Day coming up, we are highlighting our Yelp Parents group in Washington, D.C. This small but mighty group represents over a dozen moms and dads working here in our nation’s capital

Many members of Yelp D.C. Parents uprooted their families from across the country in order to launch our new office. It was important for us to create a group that nurtured our founding members as they navigated the challenges of moving and settling into a new city,  whether providing resources for childcare and housing, or finding the best family-friendly restaurants (like Duke’s Counter, 2 Amy’s, and Chiko) in the area. As the office continues to grow, we are excited to welcome new members and parents every day.

We celebrated our first community event this past October when we invited Yelp employees and their families for a Halloween Hullabaloo! Our parents felt so much pride showing off our brand new office space as our little Yelpers traveled from desk to desk for trick-or-treating. And that’s not all! In 2019, we are expanding our programming to include family outings, parent mixers, mentorship opportunities, and workshops on financial planning, mindfulness, and work-life balance.
