Last week, a few days before Thanksgiving, the Yelp San Francisco Elite squad was treated to a festive evening at the newly opened ALX Gastropub. The evening was full of delicious Thanksgiving themed eats, cocktails, love and laughter! The gracious hosts kept the food and drinks coming as the Yelp Elites chatted the night away!
If you’re not familiar with ALX Gastropub., well it’s a contemporary take on the traditional public house fare. ALX combines the warmth of your neighborhood dive with the style of a sophisticated lounge. Led by Chef Jessie Lugo, this contemporary casual restaurant, under the Alexander’s Steakhouse Group, is an easy going stomping ground for all those looking for comfortable food and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. With private dining available for large parties and a beverage program focused on California craft beers, local wines, and specialty crafted cocktails, ALX has a little something for everyone. This casual cousin to the steakhouses will feature local and seasonal ingredients, comfortable dishes, and an inviting dining room; welcome to ALX Gastropub!
Here’s what one of the Elites had to say, “What a fun event! I got there pretty early and the waiter was already taking everyone’s drink orders. I had the Grace Cathedral first–fruity and creamy from the egg white! We all chatted and cheers-ed while waiting for the food to come out. The menu was small, but I enjoyed the thanksgiving themed bites and drinks! I even tried the “Thanksgiving Feast” drink and oh man, it was pretty strong. My favorite of the night was the butternut squash and pumpkin soup shots! Everything else was also really yummy though. I loved the tender turkey confit sliders and the scorching hot green bean casserole bites (I totally burnt my tongue… twice), and even brought some pumpkin cheesecake bites home!” – Tara A.
