Yelp’s Disco at the Miami Children’s Museum

Do you remember, the 27th night of September? Because Yelp Miami sure does! On September 27th, 2018 over 400 members of the Yelp Miami community gathered at the Miami Children’s Museum to boogie oogie oogie, and it was all for a great cause! With 33 local food and drink vendors, hundreds of groovy costumes, over $7,000 raised for the museum, and endless disco beats, this community celebration was one for the books!

As the Yelpers arrived, they were greeted by the Yelp team for check-in, and the Miami Children’s Museum team for donations. They were then ushered into the Disco Era (talk about a throwback Thursday). The 33 local vendors spanned two whole floors and an auditorium, so there were delicious bites and sips spread throughout every nook and cranny of the museum. From Venezuelan arepas and Italian arancini to Impossible (vegan) meatballs and artisan donuts, the Yelpers were greeted with an amazing variety of fare– a true taste of the Miami food scene. Plus, they could wash it all down with craft beer from 9 different local breweries and delicious cocktails.

As the night went on, the squad shuffled their way through the museum exhibits. Or, for those who wanted to shake their groove thang, they could boogie on down to the auditorium, where DJ Joey Tracks blasted a mix of disco tunes… and reggaeton (because #Miami). After 3 hours of dancing, mingling, taking selfies in funky disco attire, and enjoying food and libations the party wound to a close. I think it’s safe to say that this Disco night was dy-no-mite!
