From running a scratch kitchen to being the first Arizona restaurant to acquire a state license in the culinary art of charcuterie, Zona78 goes the extra mile in more ways than one! So much so, that they welcomed members of the Tucson Yelp Elite Squad for a family style sampling showcasing new happy hour menu items as well as some of the classics. The menu was complete with an array of antipasti, bruschetta, Italian baby-back ribs, handmade pasta and pizza.
In between courses we were lucky to go behind the scenes and see how they make their Mozzarella, which is made fresh daily! The experience didn’t end there. We wrapped up the evening with decadent Churrochatta milkshakes. That’s right! Horchata milkshakes with a salted caramel rim dipped in Cinnamon Toast Crunch, whipped cream, caramel, and made-to-order churros.
To sum up the evening, Kim L wrote, “I love the chance to congregate with like-minded foodies! The discussions are always lively, and I always learn something new! I learned so much about Zona – I had no idea they made their own mozzarella… yes, every morning! The staff were fantastic, friendly, engaging, answered all of our questions!”
