It’s that time of year again for everyone’s favorite gourmet gathering on the beach. For the 17th year in a row, SOBEWFF ® is transforming South Florida into a foodie paradise. This five-day culinary celebration brings more than 90 tasty events to our community. So much food (and wine), so little time. But don’t whine about the long list –  make time for wine! We’ve taken a look at the full lineup and narrowed it down to our 20 favorite events!  From intimate dinners to massive tastings – cocktail parties to wine celebrations, there’s something for everyone.

Clambake hosted by Emeril Lagasse and Jorge Ramos

Thursday, February 22nd | 7 pm

Come join iconic chef, restaurateur, author, and television personality Emeril Lagasse poolside nestled in the tailored luxury of the new Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach! Lagasse will host the ultimate clambake, featuring seemingly endless sips of wines and spirits accompanied by specially-prepared dishes from more than a dozen of South Florida’s most popular seafood spots, including fare from the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach’s own Chef Jorge Ramos. But the party doesn’t end there – get a moonlight experience unlike any other by joining popular Food Network personality and Charm City Cakes founder Duff Goldman poolside at the nautically-inspired elegance of the new Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach for samplings of his signature creations, plus more desserts and libations overlooking the ocean.

Barilla’s Italian Bites on the Beach sponsored by HCP Media and the Miami Herald Media Company

America’s beloved queen of Italian cuisine is joining us at the Festival once again to celebrate the release of her latest cookbook Giada’s Italy (Clarkson Potter, April 2018). Giada De Laurentiis shares secrets of la bella vita with readers, taking them on a journey of the dishes that have inspired her family traditions for years and giving an intimate look at some of her favorites. Here at the Festival, she will host more than 30 of the nation’s greatest chefs serving up dishes originating from various regions of Italy. You can peruse Piedmont, trot through Tuscany, savor Sardinia, canvas Campania, saunter through Sicily, and more – while sinking your toes into the sparkling white sands of South Beach.

Dinner hosted by Michael Schwartz, Ravi Kapur and Derek Dammann

Thursday, February 22nd | 7 pm

Known for putting Miami’s fashionable Design District neighborhood on the culinary map, celebrated Chef Michael Schwartz opens the kitchen at his flagship Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink to two acclaimed chefs hailing from the North and West for one unique dining collaboration. Hawaiian-born and West Coast trained, Chef Ravi Kapur is known for his marrying of upscale and innovative flavors at Liholiho Yacht Club in San Francisco. Chef Derek Dammann has mastered the art of combining the casual, approachability of a neighborhood pub with refined cuisine at his widely touted Maison Publique in Montréal. Together, these three household names will take you on a cross-country dining journey worth staying in town for.

This dinner will be paired with Champagne Henriot, one of the few remaining family-owned houses with over two hundred years of independence. Founded in Reims in 1808, over the years, the house has been cultivating a distinctive style of its own, guided by the pursuit of the purest expression of Chardonnay.

Tequila Cazadores presents Tacos After Dark hosted by Rick Bayless

Thursday, February 22nd | 10 pm

Whether from a street corner or a white-tablecloth restaurant, tacos remain one of the hottest food trends out there! Chef Rick Bayless is the seven-time James Beard Award-winning behind several successful Chicago restaurants, New York Times’ best selling cookbooks, an Emmy-nominated Public Television series, and now he returns to the Festival as host of our fan-favorite tacos and tequila fiesta. In fact, even the Government of Mexico has given Bayless the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle – the highest decoration bestowed on foreigners whose work has benefitted Mexico and its people. We’ve rounded up an all-star cast of taco tastemakers to bring you some of America’s best offerings poolside at our host Loews Miami Beach for this popular late-night soirée. Variations using lechon, carne, pollo, and more will leave your taste buds satiated during this late night soirée bringing to life Mexico’s most iconic dish.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach presents Wine Spectator’s Best of the Best

To create the best event during the best weekend of the year, we’ve rounded up 60 of the nation’s top chefs to showcase their most gourmet samplings to pair with over 100 wines rated 90 points or higher on Wine Spectator’s scale. The Fontainebleau Miami Beach sets the perfect stage with its own blend of Golden Era glamour and modern luxury to host this grand walk-around affair, featuring chefs representing five countries, over 16 different states, more than a dozen James Beard Award nominees and finalists, three Food & Wine Best New Chefs, and one Bocuse d’Or winner. Only proprietors and winemakers from each winery are invited to pour their top varietals so you can hear about how some of the world’s greatest vino makes it from their vineyards to your palate. From aperitif to dessert, we’ll make sure your glass is decadently decanted and your plate is full of first-rate cuisine.

Heineken Light Burger Bash presented by Schweid & Sons

The Festival’s beloved Burger BashⓇ gets a new twist this year with resident Food Network rockstar Guy Fieri as its host! Our beloved queen of burgers Rachael Ray must miss this year after an impressive 11-year reign as hostess, and we’ve tapped Fieri to join in on the fun, adding his signature twists and turns, and taste all of the mouth-watering creations offered at the Heineken Light Burger Bash presented by Schweid & Sons. Join us under our iconic white tents nestled in the sparkling sands behind The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach hotel to graze on carefully curated offerings from chefs from across America, and sip on refreshing Heineken Light beer and wine selections. Lucky Chopsticks hosted by Andrew Zimmern

We’ve once again tapped good friend and James Beard Award-winning TV personality Andrew Zimmern, who also moonlights as a chef, food writer and teacher, to host a fan-favorite Festival event – Lucky Chopsticks – that is coming to Broward County for the first time! Zimmern is widely regarded as one of the most versatile, knowledgeable and “bizarre” personalities in the food world, and he’s ready to bring his passion and enthusiasm for classic Asian street market fare to a new level. Fill up to the brim with sushi, dumplings, dim sum and a variety of other unique eats while enjoying scenic views of downtown and the beach from atop the trendy W Fort Lauderdale and sipping on special libations paired specially for these flavorful bites.

Lifeway Keifer presents Buddhas and Bellinis

Take a breather during SOBEWFF®. Buddhas and Bellinis brings together the most sought after yoga teacher in South Florida, Dawn B, coupled with acclaimed & totally hip musical talent, for a morning of YOGA & relaxation during SOBEWFF®. A DARLEE production, this yoga session promises to refresh, inspire, and rejuvenate your body & mind. Refresh after yoga and celebrate the accomplishment of total body relaxation, with Bellinis and healthy bites – including Lifeway Kefir, a tart and tangy cultured dairy beverage that’s 99% lactose free and packed with probiotics. Keith Johns brings his dynamic, richly nuanced, and beautifully orchestrated brand of Indie Folk music to Buddhas and Bellinis on Saturday, and Brendan Fallis rounds off the weekend with his distinct aesthetic sounds!

Also following the yoga session will be a short and inspiring panel discussion covering health, wellness, and self-care in the modern world. Marcus Samuelsson presents a Harlem to Overtown Jazz Brunch

The Festival is teaming up with James Beard Award-winning chef, Food Network personality and cookbook author Marcus Samuelsson to offer guests a sneak preview of his Overtown restaurant before it opens!  Kick-off brunch at a reception checking out his brand new space, then head across the street to the sprawling plaza outside The Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater for an all-American comfort brunch rooted in Southern and Caribbean cuisine.  In collaboration with the Melton Mustafa Jazz Festival taking place that weekend, enjoy live music while noshing on Samuelsson’s ribs, fried chicken, collard greens, and more!

EnRoute Winemaker for a Day: Blending Seminar

Play, taste, blend and create! Exercise your inner winemaker during this exclusive Winemaker for a Day seminar.  Join EnRoute Winemaker Andrew Delos in this rare opportunity to experiment with and make your own finished wine blend using barrel samples from EnRoute’s most distinguished Russian River Valley vineyards. It’s a palate-pleasing, hands-on look at winemaking with one of the Russian River Valley’s most remarkable winemakers and wineries.

Yappie Hour presented by Fetch My Vet

Join Katie Lee and her new best friend, a chihuahua rescue named Gus, for this returning fan-favorite event as it launches in a new location at Loews Miami Beach. Festival canine kings The Browns – founder and director Lee Brian Schrager’s beloved Charlie and Stanley – will also be on hand to show Gus how to best navigate his first Yappie Hour affair. Katie is a celebrated cookbook author, co-host of the hit Food Network show The Kitchen and known for her easy-going approach to entertaining with fresh and delicious fare. Her casual sophistication, paired with the puppy energy of Gus, will lead you through an afternoon of libations for the two-legged guests, and plenty of snacks for both canines and humans alike.

Rooftop Rosé Happy Hour hosted by Kristin Cavallari

Sip on everyone’s favorite rosé, Whispering Angel by Château D’Esclans, and experience the lifestyle of St. Tropez while noshing on bites and enjoying a sprawling view of the white sandy beachfront and teal blue waters that have made Fort Lauderdale a trendy destination for visitors from around the world. Television star, jewelry and shoe designer, True Roots cookbook author and all-around lifestyle guru Kristin Cavallari – who is also a new part-time fixture on the South Florida scene thanks to the addition of husband Jay Cutler to the city’s beloved Miami Dolphins – will host this elevated afternoon soirée at the trendy W Fort Lauderdale.

South Florida favorite Chef Michael Schwartz is keeping everyone on their toes about the opening of his highly anticipated Amara at Paraiso in Edgewater. But we can tell you that his extensive travels researching for this latest project are bringing two of Argentina’s most popular chefs to Miami to create a special dining experience just for the Festival. Schwartz will open the kitchen of his upcoming Argentinian-inspired Amara to Augusto Mayer and Samuel Alex Fitzgerald, of the much buzzed about Buenos Aires-based eatery Proper. Enjoy this tribute to rustic South American flavors, accompanied by perfectly paired wines from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio, in the heart of downtown Miami.

BACARDÍ presents Walshy Fire’s Rum & Bass Beach Party

Saturday, February 24 | 9 pm

Join us for a late night of irresistible beats, light bites and endless cocktails at the BACARDÍ Rum & Bass beach party featuring Walshy Fire. Dance the night away to some serious tracks by Walshy Fire & Friends, known for keeping the dance floor hot and spirits high! Grab a late night bite cooked up by some of Miami’s top chefs and sip on delicious rum cocktails – we’ve got you covered! See you on the dance floor.

Midnight Munchies: An Española Way Block Party presented by Thrillist

We’ve rounded up some of South Florida’s best spots to hit before the sun comes up, and are bringing them to Española Way to quell your late-night munchies, with world-renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten serving as your host and Action Bronson dishing up his signature beats! Española Way is a two-block oasis tucked away in South Beach’s Art Deco district. A purely pedestrian-friendly corridor lined by Palm Trees and twinkling lights, this historic charm of this locals respite resembles the romantic Mediterranean villages of Spain and France. Spend the night dancing, sipping and sampling as we celebrate the bright and vivacious Latin culture that runs deep throughout South Florida at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Local favorite Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli will lead the way through this hyper-local affair, as attendees sip on handcrafted, signature cocktails reminiscent of Latin traditions and carefully curated by the same team that brings us DRINK Miami each year. An elite group of popular chefs from across Miami will dish out their tastiest creations representing flavors iconic to Latin culinary culture to round out this early evening soirée.

Beachside BBQ

Sunday, February 25 | 6 pm

Chef, restaurateur, popular Food Network personality, cookbook author, and self-proclaimed carnivore Michael Symon closes out the Festival as host of this epic beach barbecue taking place under our signature white tents nestled on the sparkling sands of South Beach! In anticipation of his next cookbook Playing with Fire (Clarkson Potter, April 2018), Symon has helped us round up more than 30 of the nation’s top grill maestros to churn out mouth-watering samplings of beef, pork, poultry, and more cooked low and slow. These savory samplings will be accompanied by wines & spirits and upbeat tunes to cap off this carnivorous celebration!
