Yelp BPB’s 4th BurstDay

Four years ago Yelp Broward-Palm Beach was born. On April 5, 2013, a brand new Yelp community launched in South Florida that spanned from Hallandale to Jupiter Beach. The last four years we have celebrated this amazing community and watched it grow from humble beginnings to one of the most robust, and passionate, communities around. To recognize our 4 year anniversary we embarked on a week long celebration that included 7 events, Elite Yelper spotlights, free cupcakes and even more memories we can hold on to forever. Check out all the happenings from Yelp BPB’s BurstDay Week!

One of the biggest hits in New York street food has arrived to South Florida! Guests were treated to a delightful spread of hummus, massive rice bowls, gyro, chicken, fries and Halal Guy’s EXPLOSIVE hot sauce. It was a hot event, to say the least!

Many moons ago our very first Elite Event was Yelp BPB’s Homecoming. Fast forward for years and now all of those Freshmen that attended, are Seniors, so it was only right we celebrate with another Homecoming. Good eats, sips and times were had by all. We even crowned our new Homecoming King & Queen: Andy VTairyn A.

April 6 – Fashionable Foodies @ Bazille (Boca Raton)
Sponsors: Bazille • Mavila Photography

Foodie gems can be found off the beaten path – or in the second floor of a major department store! After a long day of retail therapy, you can work up an appetite and now all of our Yelpers know about the good eats available inside the second floor of Nordstrom in Boca Raton.

April 7 – Painting The Town @ SipTales (Hallandale)

Yelp isn’t all about food, ya know? Our Yelpers are creative souls and they showcased their inner artists on Friday night with a paint class. We added in some drinks for liquid inspiration and some bites to keep the bellies happy so the artists could focus on their masterpieces.  Our mascot Pinky was idolized as 50 Yelpers memorialized him in their South Florida themed paintings.

April 8 – Closing Party @ Broski Ciderworks (Pompano Beach)
Sponsors: Broski Ciderworks • ColadaWholeFoods MarketMavila Photography

For the closing party of BurstDay Week we raised a drink –ok, drinks – to the past four years and to the many years to come. Guests learned all about cider, enjoyed some cuban eats, sang happy BurstDay and looked on as the most intense game of giant-Jenga ever, took place. It was a perfect way to end the week!

On top of all the incredible events we also highlighted some of our Elite Yelpers on the Yelp Blog. Check out the Meet The Elite series featuring Andy V, Michelle CGreshka P, Brenda P, Michael C & Goldie C, Krista C and Phylicia K.

It’s been a wild ride BPB, and I am so thankful to be able to have so many amazing memories over the last four years. Cheers to all of the amazing Yelpers, business owners and residents of Broward-Palm Beach.
