Volcanic Salt Anyone? (No, really!)
Organic? Raw? Vegan? The foodie dictionary seems to be ever growing and these words, in particular, seem to be floating around much more frequently here in London town. So, we felt it about time to check out the real ‘raw’ deal at newly opened, plant-based cafe, Rawligion.
Owner and raw food extraordinaire, John, kicked off the evening showcasing a selection of his raw juices. He explained that each of the juices are commercially cold pressed and immediately bottled in glass so as to keep in the fresh goodness. Although there were a few skewed faces, the juices went down a treat. We recommend the Poseidon’s Trident:
“I liked the drinks on offer, Poseidon’s trident was one of my favourites, the packaging of the fennel plant inside the bottle is beautiful, the amount of nutrients it has is also very good for you. Smells like candy – sweet, nostalgic like, once you drink it as a shot, the lime taste is very prominent as well as the fennel…” Priya K
We were then treated to a selection of their menu options including Kelp Noodles in protein pesto, Courgetti Marinara, Cauliflower sushi (no fish), their Lebanese box and more…
“If you’re like me and you get the first “taste” of any food with your eyes, you’ll be happy 🙂 Good news is that this food was not only beautiful but also really good and tasty…” Caroline P
Last on the menu were chocolates and desserts. These were the real crowd pleaser. All are made free from dairy, refined sugar and additives making them a true nutritional powerhouse for all those who have a sweet tooth but would prefer to keep their waistline.
“My utter favourite was the chocolate torte. Tasted rich and unhealthy with the slightest hint of coconut. I just work up the road so I’ll be back!” Eleanor T
We left stuffed and truly educated as to what really makes the raw food at Rawligion truly unique. You can read all the reviews and see all the photos from the evening HERE!
