“Brixton. How well do you really know it?” This was a question even those who lived in it couldn’t really answer but after a week filled with jerk chicken, hot chips, food court takeovers, clean shaves and much much more – it was an area many grew to know, and more importantly, love. Introducing #secretbrixton!
#secretbrixton was a week long campaign (18th – 22nd April) created by Yelp London with the aim of helping Brixton locals and people from the nearby neighbourhoods discover or re-discover the area and fantastic businesses within.
The weeks activities included: a secret map with over 30 businesses which once opened revealed secret menu items, deals and discounts; 3 takeover events: Boys VS Girls, Make it POP, Brixton and the Brixton Street Party – all which allowed Yelpers both old and new to explore the area and try some fantastic food and drink samples; and there was even an after party two weeks later to bring together those new to Yelp and looking to continue their journey.
It was an amazing week filled with warm welcomes, smiles, sunglasses and FUN! Check out all the reviews and photos from the week HERE!
Watch this space, we’ll be taking over another neighbourhood soon…
